Season of Celebrations

Remember when birthdays were bouncy houses, lots of friends, and licking the icing when Mom wasn't looking.  Well maybe there weren't bouncy houses during my childhood but yesterday brought back memories of the fun of being 2 & 4.  We celebrated with Jack and his cousin Catherine, 2 of our favorite little people.  From there we joined friends to honor their daughter Maggie's graduation from UNT with honors. We'd held her the day she was born so it was a bit nostalgic seeing her grown up and heading off to graduate school.  Time certainly passes in a flash.
Today was much quieter but very enjoyable as I celebrated my day; no bouncy houses but flowers and lovely gifts and good wishes.  Karl, Ashley & Frank cooked a great lunch of Mexican shrimp cocktail, guacamole, fajitas, rice & beans.  I didn't get pictures of dessert as they were served quickly before Kathy & Phil had to rush back to Houston; believe me when I say Ashley's apple cake and key lime pie were lovely & extra special yummy. I managed a second serving this evening.  Thank you every one for a wonderful day.
